Museum of the American West Griffith Park Campus

2009 Hours of Operation

Museum & Museum Store
Tuesday – Friday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Museum Store is open until 4:30 p.m.)
Saturday – Sunday: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Closed Mondays.

All areas of the museum including restrooms are wheelchair accessible.  Free strollers and wheelchairs are available for check out on a first-come, first-served basis.  Audio-guides tours are available for $3 / free for members. 

Golden Spur Cafe
The Golden Spur Cafe at the Autry National Center in Griffith Park is open Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m

Summer Hours: On Thursdays, in July and August, the museum and Museum Store are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Golden Spur Cafe is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Autry National Center’s Museum of the American West and offices are closed on the following Holidays: New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day..

Special Notice
Smoking is prohibited at all facilities and grounds throughout Griffith Park, including the Autry's interior, grounds, and parking lot. This is especially critical given the danger of fire in Griffith Park. Park Rangers will be enforcing the rules and the fines are very steep.

If traffic is heavy traveling northbound on the "5" Freeway, use Griffith Park Exit #141B and turn right on Crystal Springs Drive.

$9.00 for Adults
$5.00 for students (13-18) and seniors (60+)
$5.00 Adult Students (18 and over with ID)
$3.00 for children (3-12)
Free for children under 3

Free for Veterans, Active Military, Peace Officers, Park Rangers who provide current I.D.

Through December 31, 2009 admission is free for families of Peace Officers in recognition of their service during the Los Angeles Forest Fires.

Tickets can be purchased at the museum. Admission is always free for Autry Members and is free to the public on the second Tuesday of every month.

Cafe
The Golden Spur Cafe at the Autry National Center in Griffith Park is open Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, please call 323.667.9060.

Autry Library (at the Griffith Park location)
Access to the Autry Library is by appointment only. Appointments for research are available Mondays-Fridays, 9 AM-5 PM (holidays excluded). Please visit the Autry Library for more information.

Southwest Museum of the American Indian
Mt. Washington Campus

Please note: The galleries at the Southwest Museum of the American Indian are closed to the public at this time due to extensive rehabilitation of the building and conservation of the Southwest's collection of Native artifacts. Visitors are still able to enjoy a variety of fun and educational events. For a list of programs at the Southwest Museum during restoration and conservation activities, please click here.
