		Once Upon a Time in Italy . . . The Westerns of Sergio Leone, by Christopher Frayling. The accompanying publication to the exhibition, this is the first illustrated book to focus on Leone's Westerns, illuminating his visual style. Augmenting the text are a wealth of visual materials, as well as interviews with Leone, Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach, Lee Van Cleef, Bernardo Bertolucci, composer Ennio Morricone, designer Carlo Simi, and others. 		Drawn to Yellowstone: Artists in America’s First National Park, by Peter H. Hassrick, copublished with University of Washington Press, 2002. Hassrick provides a fascinating and richly illustrated account of the artists—such as Albert Bierstadt, Thomas Moran, Frederic Remington, and Louis Comfort Tiffany—who traveled to Yellowstone and were inspired by its wonders. This volume accompanies a Museum of the American West exhibition of the same title, which opened September 9, 2004. Available in our store
		How the West Was Worn, by Holly George-Warren and Michelle Freedman, copublished with Harry N. Abrams, 2001. This book traces the history of Western wear from the 1830s to the present. It was published in conjunction with the exhibition of the same title shown at the Autry National Center from October 20, 2001, through January 21, 2002. Available in our store
		Jewish Life in the American West: Perspectives on Migration, Settlement, and Community, edited by Ava F. Kahn, distributed by University of Washington Press, 2002. This volume, published in conjunction with an exhibition held at the Autry June 21, 2002, to January 20, 2003, focuses on Jewish settlement in the American West during the era of the Great Migration from the 1840s to the 1920s. 		Western Amerykanski: Polish Poster Art and the Western, edited by Kevin Mulroy, copublished with University of Washington Press, 1999. Published in conjunction with an exhibition of the same title held at the Autry in the fall of 1999, this volume examines how Polish poster artists publicized and made political use of American Western films. 		Seeking El Dorado: African Americans in California, edited by Lawrence B. de Graaf, Kevin Mulroy, and Quintard Taylor; copublished with University of Washington Press, 2001. This groundbreaking book of 14 essays traces the history of African Americans in California from the 18th century to the present. Available in our store
		Place as Purpose: Poetry From the Western States, edited by Martha Ronk and Paul Vangelisti, copublished with Sun and Moon Press, distributed by Consortium, 2002. This anthology of contemporary poetry written in the West was published expressly to accompany an October 10-12, 2002, festival held jointly at the Autry National Center, Occidental College, and Otis College of Art and Design.
