Autry Summer Fellowship

  • Criteria for the Autry Summer Fellowship are (1) suitability of research subject to the collections of the Southwest Museum of the American Indian, the Braun Research Library, the Museum of the American West, and/or the Autry Library; (2) applicant’s experience and ability in historical research; and (3) the potential of the project to advance applicant’s degree work.
  • The recipient is expected to be in residence weekdays at the Museum of the American West for a minimum of 30 days between July 1 and September 30, 2005.
  • A brief written report on research completed will be expected within two weeks of departure.
  • Fellows may also be asked to give a paper at a staff seminar while in residence or write a brief article for a museum publication on research conducted.

Applications

There is no application form. Applicants should write a one-page statement of purpose, describing their research project and identifying relevant collections at the Southwest Museum of the American Indian, the Braun Research Library, the Museum of the American West, and/or the Autry Library. Search the library and museum collections online via the Autry National Center’s Collections Online digital database and our Library Catalog.

Applications must be received by March 1, 2005. Announcement of the award will be made no later than April 15, 2005.
